The Ultrasound-Guided Thoracentesis Simulator features two types of puncture units: mid-scapular
line access and mid- axillary line access.
It can be used for training of
n Patient positioning
n Recognition of anatomical landmarks by ultrasound
n Assessment of level and volume of pleural effusion
n Determination of insertion site
n Needle insertion and collection of the fluid
n The Simulator has the following features:
n Excellent ultrasound image.
n Ribs that can be palpated.
n includes Strap-on puncture units to learn patient positioning and face-to-face communication.
n Body torso for one-man training.
n Two sites for access: right mid-scapular line and left mid-axillary line.
n Volume of pleural effusion can be controlled to set different levels of challenges.
n Aspiration of fluid
n Simulation of risks of complications
